A Leblebici student

I own the book... in fact, I took the class Leblebici wrote the book for! Leblebici is a very good teacher and the book is a must for all EE students studying VLSI design. It teaches concepts well without wordy, hard to understand passages. The useless "paragraphs of eqations" found in other engineering books are replaced with meaningful examples.

No other book gives a more effective treatment of the subject. A thorough explanation of the basics followed by a stepwise approach towards advanced topics. Thanks Kang and Leblebici for coming up with such a great book.

The author has done a good job in explaining all the intricate details of synthesizing ASIC's in deep sub-micron realms. I would recommend this to every ASIC design engineer.

Amazing sequel to Prey. Can not WAIT for the next book.

Blood Bound is phenomenal, action packed, with conflicted characters, an absolute page turner from beginning to end. I was sucked in from the beginning and it held my attention throughout. I feel that Blood Bound is better than the first book, Prey. There are a few turns of event that I didn't see coming and that made the reading experience more enjoyable. You are left once again hanging in the midst, uncertain about Tessa, Marko's and Hunter's future. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I'm addicted to Marko and Tessa's story. Please be sure to read Prey BEFORE Blood Bound. Wonderful erotic romance with a side of vampire.

Blood Bound is a dark paranormal erotica. It is not a standalone, you will need to read Prey first. Warning: If you are squeamish about mixing blood and smut, you should probably turn away now. However, if you love your vampires dark and twisty — filled with blood lust and sexual magnetism then this series is for you and you’ll find yourself down the rabbit hole and wandering the underground.

“No, you love how much you hate me. You love this right here
whether you want to admit it or not.”

Blood Bound picks up directly where Prey leaves off. Prey ended with an unholy bang and Blood Bound instantly takes you back into the insanity. I’m not even sure if this book can be classified as a roller coaster ride, it’s so much more than that. There are moments in this book that I swear you’re thrust right into the bowels of hades with how tortured the characters are. I cried for Tessa and Marko, for the injustice. For what Marko did to Tessa. For what Tessa might do to Marko. For Hunter and the consequences of his actions.

I’d be the keeper of his deepest, darkest secrets.

Tessa. Tessa. Tessa. Her strength and stubbornness is both a blessing and a curse. The struggle between giving into her Bond and searching for the Marko she thought she knew was a dangerous game. She was brave … bordering on stupid … I have to give her character credit though, I would have rolled over like a submissive puppy and begged for mercy. She just kept pushing.

…I would not love this version of him. I couldn’t.

Marko. I just don’t even know where to begin. I thought I had a love/hate relationship with him in Prey, well, that was just multiplied in this book. I have no idea how Angelini managed it, but somehow I lost the hate and fell head over heels for Marko by the end. I didn’t think it was possible. Now, don’t get me wrong, it isn’t a healthy kind of love. I’m probably some kind of dark and twisty for thinking this man is even partially redeemable, but he won me over.

I was hers, eternally, and there was nothing me or
anyone else could do about it.

The Marko Delacroix series is proving to be one of the darkest paranormal erotica series that I have ever sunk my teeth into. I can’t seem to get enough of the depravity that Marko serves up. With all of the twists and turns in the storyline it’s hard to predict where this is all leading. And despite my guesses I found myself wrong more often than not. I love that Angelini has gone so far out of the box with this one. If you’re looking for originality, you must read this series. Five Stars and Five Drenched Panties for a book that will have you questioning your own sanity.

Twisted and intense

If you haven’t read Prey, the first book in this series, stop now before you read any further. Blood Bound starts right off where Prey ends. Tessa is now Marko’s unwilling blood slave. She’s been bound to him without her permission and now she’s stuck in a life she fears with a man she loathes yet lusts after.

Tessa and Marko are the poster couple (if you can call them that) for dysfunctional relationships and I’m not sure either of them truly understands what it means to love someone. They both understand what it means to obsess, lust and dominate but love. Love seems to be a concept to them that is built in confusion and a need to maintain control and obtain power.

Marko’s power changes have turned him into an even darker being than he was before he took Tessa as his slave. His desire to possess Tessa has become an obsession of anger and darkness. He doesn’t want her yet he needs to own her. He’s a stalker with murderous intent. The two hold so much contempt for one another it’s a bit cringe worthy when they do show signs of caring for one another. Marko spends most of the time putting Tessa through physical, emotional and psychological pain. Tessa despite this continues to care for him hoping she can change him for the better but the more she learns through her connection to him the more she understands that Marko wasn’t a good man when he was a human and he may never be a good man as a vampire.

Her only hope for escaping from Marko and exacting revenge upon him is to become the concubine of another the Dark Prince and risk becoming the very thing she detests and fears, a dark vampire. There are so many twists and turns in the story that it makes for an impactful read. I don’t like most of the characters. They all seem to be abusive and selfish. The only one who I feel for is Marie. Poor, Marie has really tried to do right and had her heart handed to her numerous times over. However, even though I find the choices the characters make appalling and I think Marko is the biggest jerk ever, I like the story.

It’s twisted, dark and full of force. It’s akin to turning on the weather channel and watching a natural disaster take place. You feel offended and emotionally shocked in a negative way by the damage but you’re glued to the TV watching every second and you can’t turn away. That’s how I feel about Tessa and Marko, a natural disaster causing an immense about of substantial damage and destruction but I can’t help watching it all go down. I’m not sure there is a happy ending to be had in this series but I can imagine things are going to get even more intense and there will be more blood shed, lives lost and hearts torn to pieces.

About the Author
Chris Brooks is Professor of Finance and Director of Research at the ICMA Centre, Henley Business School, University of Reading, where he also obtained his PhD. He has diverse research interests and has published over a hundred articles in leading academic and practitioner journals, and six books. He is Associate Editor of several journals, including the Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, the International Journal of Forecasting and the British Accounting Review. He acts as consultant and advisor for various banks, corporations and professional bodies in the fields of finance, real estate, and econometrics.

A practical approach to financial econometrics

As a professor of financial econometrics in a master's degree course in accounting, I was eagerly searching for a book which should be comprehensive, understandable, and practical. Professor Brooks book came to me as a auspicious surprise. It is very readable, it contains chapters on the main topics of modern empirical studies in finance and accounting, and it brings a lot of exercises not only at the conceptual level, but also exercises with software applications, which are described in detail throughout the book. The only problem is that the software exercises are carried out with data taken from a British company that does not supply them freely. Therefore, unless someone is willing to spend a little fortune, one must reproduce the exercises using alternative data (in my case, data for Brazilian companies or the Brazilian stock market). Of course, it is not possible to get to the results presented in the book, so that the reader's analysis and conclusions might be different from the book's, which may bring doubts about the correctness of the reader's exercise. Despite this, the book is really very good as a text and exercise book for a financial econometrics course at the MSc level, and also a good starting point for those willing to embark on empirical studies in finance and accounting.

Wonderful contribution to undergraduate econometrics and time series

This book is the perfect textbook to get undergraduate students motivated with the subject.

It is simple and readable, yet provides a complete treatment of the econometrics of financial series.

I would also recommend this textbook for MBA students, since it contains valuable applications to Eviews and RATS.

If you are interested in an introductory course to econometrics for economists, you will probably prefer Wooldridge's intro book. It has more information on panel data and limited dependent variables.

This one has a terrific and desirable bias towards students particularly interested in finance. The book quickly departs from econometrics towards time series, a topic much more relevant in business schools and is far better in this subject than Wooldridge's.

Great introductory and practical book

My life would have been way easier if I had read this book while in college. It has what many other books lack, and that is explanations on how to carry out the different estimation methods in commonly used software packages such as E-Views and RATS. As for its contents, it has an excellent coverage on the topics that concern those who work with financial time series. It is a good summary of the econometric techniques used for high-frequency data. The explanations are simple and clear and it has a very practical approach. I would only add to this book a CD with the time series with which the estimations were run.

Sixty Five Hours by N.R. Walker

What would you do if you were CEO of a company and your two best advertising geniuses don't get along? The solution in 'Sixty Five Hours' by N.R. Walker, is to entice them into an opportunity to win a gigantic account. The catch is, they only have sixty-five hours to develop an advertising campaign. Having such a short time to prepare, forces the men to put aside their differences and act as a team. Their boss is hoping that this will break the ice between them and that they will end up working well together when the project is over.

Cameron Fletcher is brilliant, tall, dark, handsome, and miserable. He's the younger son of his boss which puts him under a lot of pressure. He's gay, but presents himself as straight believing that that's what everyone expects. Putting on this mask every day is taking its toll, but he doesn't see any other way. Cameron is terrified to come out for fear of disappointing his parents, so he stays in the closet feeling wretched and lonely. He resents Lucas because he sees him as everything he wants to be, an out and proud gay man who is successful and happy. He's also jealous of his father's interest in Lucas. Being forced to work with Lucas for this project incenses him, but the carrot being dangled in front of him is far too important to resist. He digs in and perseveres, at first not liking it one bit, but familiarity has a tendency to bring out true feelings and he soon can't avoid hiding them anymore.

Lucas Hensley is proud, cocky, and smart. He loves advertising. Lucas makes it clear from the start that he is gay and won't tolerate any discrimination. Lucas can't understand why Cameron has always been hostile with him since he's never done anything to provoke it. He reacts to this unfriendliness by being as indifferent as possible, while secretly bemoaning the fact that he's physically attracted to Cameron. As the resentment builds, they become rivals and are even more uncooperative. When assigned the task of preparing a marketing presentation with him, Lucas is uneasy, but tries to approach it as professionally as possible. Being together for such a short amount of time necessitates that Lucas spend far more time with him than he ever intended. The bickering and picking on each other ensues as they try to continue their feud, but it fades into being more objective and truly seeing each other for the first time. In spite of himself, Lucas begins to admire and appreciate Cameron, even to the point of rejecting his physical advances under inappropriate conditions. He realizes at this point that he wants more than a quickie with Cameron; he wants to do it right.

I loved this story. Cameron and Lucas are marvelous characters and play against and with each other spectacularly. The details on marketing were informative and enlightening; I was overwhelmed by the amount of work that goes into a marketing presentation. Being yourself was also an important theme in this wonderful story as Cameron wrestled with coming out and was delighted when he faces his fears and makes his announcement in such a spectacular fashion. I was easily enticed to become emotionally involved with the men and was cheering them on at every step. I recommend this romantic comedy to everyone who enjoys marketing, humor, wit, and spicy sexual encounters involving handsome men. I read Sixty Five Hours by N.R. Walker in one sitting. This is the first ever M/M romance story I have ever read and I loved it. I loved it so much, I favored it over sleep.

Lucas is a character that you cannot help but fall in love with. With Cameron, you get the sense that he is hiding a deep dark secret. The two men are forced to work together on a deadline for a huge marketing campaign and this is when the magic happens. The dialogue is realistic, the plot is plausible, and there was a couple of times where I wanted to throw my iPad in frustration with the two characters. You know it’s a good book when you curse the characters for about twenty minutes before continuing on with the book.

This was the first time I read a book written by N.R. Walker and will not be the last. I will definitely recommend Sixty Five Hours to those who enjoy reading M/M romance. I give this story 5/5 Platypires. Although I would definitely give it more if the rating systems allowed for it.

Thoughtful read

While this book is good and the plot, along with well written characters , is also very good this book delves into expectations and hiding. Cameron is the son of the advertising firm and in the closet about being gay. Lucas is the other advertising genius and out and open about being gay. While being thrown together for 65 difficult hours they have to create an advertising campaign for condoms. Little did anyone know that these hours were life-changing for both men. The frank discussion about being out is unfortunately a well written theme for far too many people whether male or female. The anguish that Cameron has been living with is disclosed and it's heartbreaking. His parents only want him to be happy but he's too afraid to tell them the truth. Lucas is good for Cameron and helps him become himself. The characters sound real and the situations seem quite plausible which makes this story good and honest. Enjoy it....it was a great read.
