This book has a good format and is based on the new technology that is on the diesel engines of today. I am a Technical College Diesel Instructor and i think this is the best book that is in print at this time. It covers all the engine families including the big three.

Clear, Easy to read.

Outstanding Book, I have learn so much information regarding the Diesel Engine, very technical yet, easy for a begginer to follow;This book cover most of the Diesel manufactures including the most dominant at my work the Detroit Diesel Series 50.

In some instances some of the more season mechanics have thumb throu and found answers to their questions.

Most of all my book arrived three days after placing the order. my next one will be HEAVY DUTY TRUCK SYSTEMS.

This edition is his best; buy it, keep it in your tool box/shelf, and be happy with the money well spent. He's one of the rare guys that writes from a mechanics perspective; savvy with the most advanced technology but knows the legacy platforms as well. He knows what he's talking about.

I adore it!

The book is divided into a booklet with demonstrations of different categories of collage work by Andrea D'Aquino with short text and another booklet with collage fodder to be used/scanned/be inspired by.
I find it a great addition to my artbook library and it makes me want to grab scissors and some glue and get on with collage work. It is also useful for art teachers. Thankyou Andrea!

Part creative inspiration and philosophy, and part activity book with lots of fun ideas. This book is not a typical "how-to" book. The package itself is very special - the book is housed in a hard-case box together with a pad of colorful patterned papers and vintage photos, ephemera and typography that you can cut up and use to make your own creations. The light-hearted tone makes me smile, but also gave me plenty to think about while I try out my own collages. Inspiring and beautiful!

I was looking forward to loving this book but was hoping for more substance. A whole pad of colorful solid and printed patterned paper is included, of which I am not interested in for how I work. I love the author's art and would have loved a gallery of her art included and other artists as well. The directions are simple and geared to beginners. If you are starting out with paper collage, you may like it. I do love how it is graphically designed and put together.

About the Author

Robert L. Smith holds a B.S. in Animal Science, an M.S. in Wildlife Biology along with a Ph.D. in Wildlife Biology from Cornell University. Currently, he is a professor of Ecology at West Virginia University. He has spent over 30 years teaching Ecology and conducting field research throughout the world.

His teaching responsibilities have involved mostly undergraduate courses in general ecology and graduate courses in population ecology and wildlife management. His research has included forest-fire related problems in southern West Virginia, vegetational development and succession on abandoned and reclaimed surface mines, the relation between forest vegetational structure and the forest bird community, and forest habitat assessment and habitat evaluation procedures based on vegetational structure.

Smith has served as a consultant to congressional committees, workshops on environmental education and energy and environmental problems, the National Landmarks program of the U.S. Department of Interior, National Research Council Task Forces on wildlife and fisheries issues and ecological classification systems for implementing environmental quality evaluation procedures. He is the author of numerous articles and reviews as well as the author of three ecology texts: Ecology and Field Biology, Elements of Ecology and Ecology of Man: An Ecosystem Approach, Harper and Row, New York.

Integrating a unique service learning experiences into his classes, Dr. Shiring has taught 21 different hospitality management courses, including catering and special events, hospitality marketing, strategic planning, principles of management, cost management, fundraising for special events, introduction to casino, human resources management, food production, purchasing, introduction to hospitality, and hospitality business model. Both an academic and internship adviser, he is the IUP faculty representative to the Walt Disney World College Program. He served as chairperson of the Department of Hospitality Management for seven years and is a member of the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education as well as serves on advisory committees representing both community colleges and vocational-technical high schools. In addition, he volunteers as a subject specialist for the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Education, serving as an on-site evaluator for Hospitality & Tourism Management Programs seeking accreditation. Dr. Shiring's numerous awards include the IUP African American Cultural Center's Award of Recognition. He received his doctorate degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
